Page Cloaking - To Cloak or Not to Cloak

Generally, we can define a Page cloaking as a technique that is used for delivering dissimilar web pages to dissimilar conditions. Why people do so? Meaning why people prefer page clocking? Simple, it has two reasons.

(1) Page clocking gives facility to people to create different pages for both human visitor and search engine. Whenever any search engine robot spiders a site, then search engine gets only that page which has been delivered for optimization. Similarly, human visitor gets that site which has been created for him. In this way it avoids the interference between search engine and human visitor, as human visitors can’t see those pages that have been optimized by the search engine and vice-versa.

(2) It also guarantees to people to hide the webpage source code form their competitors so that, they are not able to copy their code.

Although, page cloaking has some good features it is advisable not to use page clocking because search engines do not prefer this. If you use page cloaking it may happen that search engine will not index your site into its database.
