Tips when submitting to directories

Directory provides facility for systematic submission of site. It allows you to submit your website in a specific category. When you submit your link these tips should be taken care off:

(1) Each directory will suggest you to determine the most appropriate category in which you want to link. This kind of submission not only helps to directories but also helps the search engines. When search engines search your site they look all for other search engines listed on the same page. If you link to a directory according to website page theme then of course your rank will increase.

(2) Have patience: If you are doing free listing then you need to be very patient. Actually what happens, when you are not paying any amount for listing then your link will get lower priority then paid one. In such condition it may take half a year to get into any directory. So you need to have patience here.

(3) Maintaining a log file: Whenever you are going to submit a link to a directory, you should write the directory name and the submission date into a log file. By keeping this log file you can never submit any site more than once.
